YOUTH EMPOWERMENT INITIATIVES

Progressive Youth Development for Real Change

A nation which fails to invest in its youth is a nation without a future. Consequently, the future of any nation is inextricably linked to emphasis on education and demonstrated through its policies and practices in educating its youth along with all its people.

It is on this premise that the KENYA COMMUNITY ALLIANCE MOVEMENTK administration, in effecting the change purported in this Blue Print and in keeping with its campaign slogan, would spare no effort and maximize the use of the appropriate resources to improve education milieu from early childhood education through to tertiary level in the Republic of Kenya.

• Modernization of Education: The KENYA COMMUNITY ALLIANCE MOVEMENTK will modernize schools’ curriculum and the entire education system, providing state-of-the-art facilities where possible.
• New Primary School in Providenciales: To alleviate overcrowding, a new primary school will be built to ensure comfortable classes and foster an open, caring, and stimulating climate.
• Expanded Curriculum: The curriculum will include public speaking, communication skills, foreign languages, environment, marine and agriculture science, heritage, and tourism.
• Magnet Schools: Establishment of Magnet Schools to focus on specialized areas of education.
• Literacy and Numeracy Focus: Emphasis on literacy and numeracy development from the early stages of education.
• Sporting Facilities: Ensuring all schools have proper sporting facilities to promote physical education.
• Entrepreneurship in Curriculum: Promoting entrepreneurship to prepare students for wealth creation and a competitive job market.

Youth Programs and Initiatives

The KENYA COMMUNITY ALLIANCE MOVEMENTK Government is committed to empowering youth through targeted programs and initiatives:

• Regular Meetings with Youth: An elected KENYA COMMUNITY ALLIANCE MOVEMENTK Government will hold regular meetings with young people to hear their concerns. The first meeting will be held within the first 100 days.
• National Youth Council: Empowering and strengthening a National Youth Council to advise the government on youth-related matters.
• Youth Representation: Ensuring youth are allowed to serve on national boards to gain exposure to decision-making processes.
• Partnerships for Youth Programs: Partnering with churches, civic organizations, and the private sector to devise and implement youth programs.
• Entrepreneurship in Schools: Encouraging entrepreneurship in the school curriculum to instill a sense of entrepreneurialism and independence in commerce.

Culture, Creativity & Youth

The KENYA COMMUNITY ALLIANCE MOVEMENTK Government will support arts in all forms and reintroduce the TCI Cultural Commission to seek and support new artistic talents.

• Back to Our Roots Campaign: Launching a national campaign to help youth understand and appreciate their cultural heritage.
• Heritage Site: Creating a heritage site where youth can trace their family history and foster unity.
• Civics Education: Introducing Civics as a subject at all educational levels.
• Creative Arts Program: Encouraging youth creativity through choirs, drama, dance centers, and science and technology symposiums.

Sports Development – A 10-Point Plan

The KENYA COMMUNITY ALLIANCE MOVEMENTK Government will prioritize sports development through the following initiatives:

• Reintroduce the Sports Commission: To oversee the development and management of sports in the country.
• Athletic Training Programs: Investing in athletic training programs and securing more scholarships for outstanding athletes.
• Improve National Stadium: Upgrading the condition of the National Stadium and promoting more athletic competitions.
• National Physical Education Program: Ensuring every school includes physical education in its curriculum.
• Partnerships with Federations: Forming partnerships with recognized athletic federations and corporations.
• Sport Camps: Promoting sport camps to expose young people to opportunities in sports.
• National Championships: Reintroducing the TCI National Track & Field Championships.
• Olympic Participation: Ensuring athletes can participate in the Olympics.
• High-Performance Sports Center: Erecting a High-Performance Sports Center and improving facilities nationwide.
